Week 1 - Night Prayer - Day of the Angels

G. Oh God, come to reign in us.

E. Lord, let your Will come quickly.

Glory be to the Father...

HYMN
Oh, power of the Divine Will,
how holy, adorable
and lovable you are!

Even if we do nothing,
with you we are everything,
because your Will is fruitful
and brings every good to life!

Glory and love
in the Divine Will
to the Father , and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit! Amen.

Ant. The cross is the incarnation of the soul in God and of God in the soul.

Psalm Vol. VI, December 22, 1903

In creation,
I gave man my image;
in the incarnation, I gave him my Divinity,
deifying humanity.

In the very act the Divinity
became incarnate in the humanity,
in that same instant it became incarnate in the cross.

From the moment I was conceived,
I was conceived united with the cross.

Just as the true cross was united to me
at my incarnation in my mother’s womb,
in like manner the cross forms as many more
incarnations of mine in the interior of souls.

The cross destroys what is natural in the soul
and fills it so much with the Divinity
that it forms a kind of incarnation:
God in the soul and the soul in God.

I am not saying “union,” but “incarnation.”
The cross penetrates so much into man’s human nature
that it makes it become pain.
Wherever there is pain, God is there.
God and pain are inseparable.

Forming this “incarnation,”
the cross makes a more stable union
and it is difficult for God
to separate himself from the soul.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. The cross is the incarnation of the soul in God and of God in the soul.

SHORT READING Vol. VI, March 20, 1903

“All things have their beginning from faith. Whoever is strong in faith is strong is suffering. Faith makes you find God everywhere. It makes you notice him in every action, touch him in every moment. Every new occasion that comes up is a new revelation that you receive. So be strong in faith, because then, in every state of being and happening, it will give you the strength you need, and it will always keep you united to God.”

RESPONSORIAL Vol. VI, March 16, 1904

Ant. Blessed is the soul that lives in the Divine Will; all generations will call it blessed!

PRAYER
Holy Father, in your immense goodness, you have made us become your true children in your Son and our Lord Jesus Christ. Fill our hearts with your holy Will, so that you can find all your pleasure in us, just as you always find it in your beloved Son, who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.

May the Lord put an end to the night of the human will, and let us rest in the divine. Amen.
