Week 4 - Morning Prayer - Day of St. Joseph

INVITATORY

HYMN Vol. XXXV, January 30, 1938

While swimming in the ocean of your Divine Will,
oh, how well one can hear
its continuous murmuring that says:
Love! Souls! Light!

It wants to clothe each of its children
in its light,
and reign in them!

What stratagems of love it uses
to make them return
to the bosom of its light
from which they came!

And in its pain, it says:
“My children, my children, let me reign.
I will give you so much grace
that you will be recognized
as children of your heavenly Father!” Amen.

Ant. 1 My Will is more than a sun that wants to consume the creature in its love.

Psalm 1 Vol. XIX, July 26, 1926

See how the light of the sun
is not enjoyed equally by everyone?
This happens on account of creatures,
not because of the sun,
since my works, containing the universal good,
do good to everyone without excluding anyone.

Suppose there is a person who is inside his room.
He doesn’t enjoy
all the brightness of the light.
The light that he does receive is rather dim,
and he doesn’t enjoy the sun’s heat.

Now, there is another who is in an unpopulated area.
He enjoys more light, and he feels the heat of the sun.
The heat purifies and disinfects the foul air,
letting him enjoy purified air.
He is invigorated and feels healthier.

A third person goes to be where the sun’s rays
are beating down on the surface of the earth.
He feels penetrated by its rays,
scorched by the heat of the sun.
The light that fills his eyes is so bright
that he can hardly look at the earth.

It can be said that he is seen to be
as if transfused into the light itself.
He lives completely for the sun;
but since his feet are resting on the ground
he does feel the earth and himself a little.

A fourth takes flight on the rays of the sun,
rising up even to the center of its sphere.
He is set on fire by the intensity of the heat
that the sun contains in its center.
The intensity of the light completely eclipses him,
such that he become dispersed,
consumed in the sun itself.

This fourth cannot look at the earth anymore,
nor think about himself. And if he did look,
he would see light, he would feel fire.
So, for him all things have come to an end;
the light and the heat
have taken the place of his life.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 1 My Will is more than a sun that wants to consume the creature in its love.

Ant. 2 What a difference between someone who lives resigned, and
another who lives consumed in the unity of the light of my Will!

Psalm 2 Vol. XIX, July 26, 1926

The sun is the image of my Will,
which, more than a sun, sends its blazing rays
to convert those who want to live in its kingdom,
all into light and love.
These four people are the image
of the four levels of living in the Divine Will.

You can say that the first doesn’t live in its kingdom,
but only by the light which the sun of my Will
spreads to everyone, from my kingdom.
You can say he is outside its boundaries;
and if he enjoys a pale light,
it is because of the nature of the light
which spreads everywhere.

His human nature, his weaknesses and passions
form as it were, a room around him,
and they produce an infected and foul air
which he breathes.
So he is always sickly,
and he lacks vitality to do good.

Nevertheless, he is resigned,
supporting life’s encounters as well as he can,
because the light of my Will, for however dim it may be,
always communicates its good.

The second is the image of someone who has taken
the first steps within the boundaries
of the Kingdom of the Supreme Will.
He not only enjoys more light,
but also the heat.

Therefore, the air that he breathes is pure,
and by breathing it, he feels his passions die.
He is constant in the good he does,
and he supports the cross
not only with patience but with love.

But since he has only taken the first steps
inside the boundaries,
he looks at the earth, and he feels the weight
of his human nature.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 2 What a difference between someone who lives resigned, and
another who lives consumed in the unity of the light of my Will!

Ant. 3 Whoever has to make the Divine Will known must live on the highest level.

Psalm 3 Vol. XIX, July 26, 1926

The third, on the other hand, being the image
of someone who has penetrated deep
inside the boundaries of this kingdom,
enjoys so much light
that it makes him forget everything.

He no longer feels anything of himself.
Good, virtues, crosses become part of his nature,
they eclipse and transform him,
scarcely allowing him to look at from afar,
those things which no longer belong to him.

The fourth is the happiest,
because he is the image of someone
who not only lives in my Kingdom,
but has taken possession of it.
This person undergoes the complete consummation
into the supreme sun of my Will.
The force of the light is so dense
that he himself becomes light and love.

Therefore, there will be a difference of levels
in the Kingdom of my Will,
according to how many of its goods
creatures will want to take.
But the first levels will be incentives and paths
to reach the last one.

For you, then, having to make it known,
it is imperative
that you live on the highest level.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 3 Whoever has to make the Divine Will known must live on the highest level.

SHORT READING Vol. XXXV, January 2, 1938

“You must know that in order to pass over and live in my Will, there must be decision on God’s part and firm decision on the part of the creature to live in it. Therefore, we contribute from what is ours, so that it won’t fall by the wayside. It may feel its miseries, evils, weaknesses, but this doesn’t mean anything, because before the power and holiness of my Will, they die. They feel the pain of death and flee. Especially because the miseries are not the offshoot of the human will, since it is immersed in my Will, and so it can’t want but what I want.”

RESPONSORIAL Vol. XXXV, December 28, 1937

G. Our love was and is so immense that *we wanted to create ourselves
in each act of the creature.

E Our love was and is so immense that *we wanted to create ourselves
in each act of the creature.

G. To make ourselves loved, to make ourselves known, and to be in the
continual exchange of life between the creature and us,

E. *we wanted to create ourselves in each act of the creature.

G. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

E. Our love was and is so immense that *we wanted to create ourselves
in each act of the creature.
