Week 2 - Evening Prayer - Day of the Divine Will

G. Oh God, come to reign in us.

E. Lord, let your Will come quickly.

Glory be to the Father...

HYMN Vol. IX, April 11, 1909

Ever so close to you, O Jesus;
even fused and unified,
one and the same with you.
I leave my whole being in you,
to take from you all of yourself.

Oh, how happy we will be!
I will think with your mind,
look with your eyes
and speak with your mouth!

I will love with your heart,
work with your hands
and walk with your feet.
I will take your happiness,
your love and your Will,
and with them, we will make everyone happy!

In your holy Will,
I will give you divine love
and glory in every act I do! Amen.

Ant. 1 The Divine Will contains such a force, attraction and enchantment!

Psalm 1 Vol. VII, December 15, 1906

The Divine Will is the only substantial food
that has all the flavors and tastes
that are adapted to the soul.

The soul finds its preferred food and becomes calm.
The desire, finding its food, keeps busy feeding.
Its inclination doesn’t have anywhere else
to tend to anymore
since it has found what satisfies it.

By putting itself aside,
the human will no longer has anything to want,
since it has found the Divine Will
which makes it happy.

Everything in the soul
has found the food and the work
in which it can stay occupied
and absorbed in God’s Will.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 1 The Divine Will contains such a force, attraction and enchantment!

Ant. 2 What immense wealth creatures could acquire if they would do everything through Christ, with him and in him!

Psalm 2 Vol. VII, September 23, 1906

To work through Christ, with him and in him,
makes the human work completely disappear,
and Christ makes it rise as a divine work.
So, do everything together with him,
as if you were together with him doing the same thing.

If you suffer, try to suffer as if you were suffering together
with him. If you pray or work,
make everything flow in him and together with him.

Oh, how wealthy creatures would be if they did this,
but they just don’t take advantage of it.

Glory be to the Father…..

Ant. 2 What immense wealth creatures could acquire if they would do everything through Christ, with him and in him!

Ant. 3 Every time you suffer in the Divine Will, you acquire another kingdom in your soul.

Psalm 3 Vol. VII, October 31, 1906

With suffering that the soul endures,
it acquires another dominion over itself.

Patience in suffering is to rule,
and by ruling over itself when it is suffering,
so many more domains does the soul acquire.

It does none other than extend and enlarge
its kingdom in heaven,
acquiring immense wealth
for eternal life.

So, each new time you suffer,
bear in mind that you are acquiring
another kingdom in your soul:
a kingdom of grace,
corresponding to a kingdom of virtue and of glory.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 3 Every time you suffer in the Divine Will, you acquire another kingdom in your soul.

SHORT READING Vol. VII, October 28, 1906

“Everything that is light comes from God, not the creature. It’s like the person who finds himself enveloped by the rays of the sun: if he wanted to attribute to himself the light that he is enjoying, he would just be senseless and silly. The only thing he could do is to go out of the light and say that he wants to walk in the shadows. Similarly, the soul can leave God’s light but then it remains in the darkness, and darkness can only produce evil.”

RESPONSORIAL Vol.XII, March 6, 1919

G. The soul *must reach the point of living more in heaven than on earth.

E. The soul *must reach the point of living more in heaven than on earth.

G. What is impossible for the creature, is possible for God.

E. *must reach the point of living more in heaven than on earth.

G. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

E. The soul *must reach the point of living more in heaven than on earth.
