Week 4 - Evening Prayer - Day of St. Joseph

G. Oh God, come to reign in us.

E. Lord, let your Will come quickly.

Glory be to the Father...

HYMN Vol. XXXVI, June 12, 1938

When I speak about my Will,
then my love is soothed,
its anxieties are calmed,
are stilled!

I rest sweetly in my words,
in the truths that my love manifests
about my Will,

because I see that my love
takes its place in creatures
to be loved in return,
and my Will forms its life there! Amen.

Ant. I It is necessary to manifest the qualities and the goods that there are in my Will, in order to enrapture creatures and make them live in it.

Psalm I Vol. XXXVI, June 12, 1938

You must know that each knowledge I manifest,
and each act done in my Will, accompanied
by the knowledge manifested,
is a divine seed that the soul acquires.

This seed will produce new divine science;
and oh, how the soul will know
how to speak the language of its Creator!
Each truth will be a new heavenly language
that is capable of making itself understood
by whoever listens to it
and wants to receive this divine seed.

This seed will produce new life of holiness,
new love, new goodness, new joys and happiness.
Each seed of my truth will be a new
divine property that the soul acquires.

For each divine seed that the soul acquires,
in virtue of the understandings of my Fiat,
we will share with it another degree
of our glory and the knowledge of ourselves,
when it comes into our heavenly fatherland,
after having finished its life here below.

To the knowledge acquired on earth,
there will correspond the double knowledge
of our Supreme Being that the soul will acquire
in our heavenly dwelling;

and each divine seed that it will have received,
will be a degree of glory, of joy and of happiness.
So, the happiness, the joy and the glory of the blessed
will be in proportion to
how much they have known of them.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. I It is necessary to manifest the qualities and the goods that there are in my Will, in order to enrapture creatures and make them live in it.

Ant. 2 We don’t know where to put our holiness and our love in someone who doesn’t know or love us.

Psalm 2 Vol. XXXVI, June 30, 1938 - I

Everyone lives in my Will.
And if they didn’t want to live in it,
they wouldn’t find any place where they could live.

But who feels our divine life?
Who feels himself enveloped by our holiness?
Who experiences the contentment of being touched
by our creative hands,
to be made beautiful with our beauty?
Who feels himself drowned by our love?

Those who want to live in our Will,
not those who find themselves there
by force of creation,
since our immensity envelops everyone
and everything.

The latter are there without knowing us,
like true usurpers of our benefits,
like ungrateful and disloyal children,
degenerated from their Father.

And since they neither know us nor love us,
we can’t find any place in them
to put our holiness and our love.
Their souls are incapable of receiving
our ever-growing beauty.

They don’t give us anything,
not even the rights of Creator.
And while they live with us in our divine sea,
they are, as it were, far from us.
By not knowing us they have put up barriers,
they have closed the doors, and broken off
the communications between them and us.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 2 We don’t know where to put our holiness and our love in someone who doesn’t know or love us.

Ant. 3 If knowledge is missing, we can’t give anything, nor can the creature receive anything.

Psalm 3 Vol. XXXVI, June 30, 1938

Knowledge is the first link of conjunction
between creatures and us.
It is wanting to live in our Will
that removes the barriers and opens the doors
for them to delight in us.

It is loving us that makes us pour out
our love, our graces in streams,
to the point of covering the creature
with our divine qualities.
If knowledge is lacking, we can’t give anything
nor can they receive it.

On the contrary, whoever lives in our Will knows us.
As he enters into it, so he gives his kiss
to his Father, and hugs him.
He puts his little love around us,
and he exchanges a kiss with all of heaven.
We can say that the celebrations begin
between him and us,
between heaven and earth.

We ourselves call this creature blessed,
and say to it:
“You are the happiest and most fortunate of creatures
because you live in our Will.
You live and you know us, you live and you love us;
and we have you hidden in our love,
covered by our arms
under the shower of our graces.”

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 3 If knowledge is missing, we can’t give anything, nor can the creature receive anything.

SHORT READING Vol. XXXVI, June 12, 1938

“The situation between the blessed and us is like that of someone who has not studied the various languages: not only will he not understand anything when he hears them spoken, but they won’t be able to employ him as a teacher in a position where he can teach the various languages, and so pay him a higher salary. As a result, he will have to be content with teaching what little he knows and earning little. This is what it’s like for us: If they don’t know us on earth, they don’t make the space in their souls to receive all our joys and happiness. And if we wanted to give them to them, they wouldn’t enter into them and they wouldn’t understand anything.”
