Week 4 - Morning Prayer - Day of the Passion

INVITATORY

HYMN
Vol. XXXV, August 15, 1937

O holy and divine Will,
your surprises are always new;
they are clothed with such an enrapturing love
that one’s soul overflows with joy!

O adorable Will,
how I wish everyone would know you,
love you and let you reign,
and let themselves be caught
in your net of love! Amen.

Ant. 1 Whoever lives in the Divine Will feels the virtue of the operating act of God.

Psalm 1 Vol. XXXVI, June 5, 1938

My Will clothes and envelops everything and everyone
in its bosom of light.
It possesses everything,
and no one can escape it.

Everyone lives in it,
but they don’t recognize
who it is that gives them life, movement,
steps, heat and even their breath.

We can say that the creature lives in our Will
as if it lived in our own house:
we give it whatever it needs,
we feed it with more than paternal tenderness,
yet it doesn’t recognize us.

And many times it attributes
what it does to itself,
while we are the ones who do it;
and it even goes so far as to offend
him who gives it life and conserves it.

We can say we have so many enemies
in our house that live at our expense,
like so many thieves who rob us of our goods.
And our love is so great
that it compels us to give them life
and to feed them as if they were our friends.

Glory be to the Father….

Ant. 1 Whoever lives in the Divine Will feels the virtue of the operating act of God.

Ant. 2 Recognize that your life comes from God who gives you everything in order to live life together with you.

Psalm 2 Vol. XXXVI, June 5, 1938

In order for the creature to be able to say
that it lives in our Will,
it must want it, and it must recognize it.

By wanting it, the creature feels
that everything is Will of God for it;
and by recognizing it,
it feels our operating act upon itself.
And this is the living in my Divine Will:
to feel our operating power inside
and outside of itself.

As it feels that our Will is acting,
the creature acts along with it.
If it feels that we are loving, it loves together with us.
If we want to make ourselves known more,
it is all ears to listen to us,
and it receives with love
the new life of our knowledge.

In short, it feels our operating life,
and wants to do and does whatever we do;
it follows us in everything.

This is the living in our Will:
to feel our life that gives life to the creature;
to feel our operating act
that moves, breathes and works in its being.

These are our heavenly dwellers,
our glory in our dwelling.
We are like father and sons:
what is ours is theirs, but they recognize it.

They are not blind or thieves
who don’t have eyes to see our light,
nor ears to listen to our paternal cares,
who don’t feel our operating act over them.

Indeed, whoever lives in our Will
feels the power of our operating act;
and this is the greatest gift
that we can give to the creature.

Glory be to the Father...

Ant. 2 Recognize that your life comes from God who gives you everything in order to live life together with you.

Ant. 3 My Will has the power to make the creature achieve anything it wants to.

Psalm 3 Vol. XXXVI, November 13, 1938

You must know that the Kingdom of my Will
will be formed and founded
on the truths that it has manifested.
The more truths it manifests,
the more luxurious, beautiful, majestic
and over-abounding in good and joys
will this Kingdom be.

My truths will form the regime, the laws, the food,
the powerful army, the defense
and the life itself of whoever lives in it.

Each of my truths will assume its own distinct office;
one will act as teacher, another as a most loving father,
still another as a most tender mother, who,
in order not to expose her child to danger,
takes it to her bosom, cradles it in her arms,
feeds it with her love, clothes it with light.
In short, each truth will be the bearer
of a special good.

Do you see how rich the Kingdom of my Will will be?
This is why I speak so much of it:
because they will enjoy
according to how much they know.
Knowledge will bring them the life, the light
and the good that it possesses.

Glory be to the Father…..

Ant. 3 My will has the power to make the creature achieve anything it wants to.

SHORT READING Vol. XXXV, February 26, 1938

“As the creature recognizes and loves us in created things, it seals in them a note of love and of happiness for its Creator. And rising up to recognize its Creator, it comes to know us, and we recognize our divine being in it. And if you only knew what it means to recognize each other! Our loved love calms us down, and it loves more intensely the one who loves it. It goes so far as to create itself, in order to recognize itself in the creature. To do what? To recognize itself in the creature and to be loved.”
