Week 4 - Evening Prayer - Day of the Angels

G. Oh God, come to reign in us.

E. Lord, let your Will come quickly.

Glory be to the Father...

HYMN Vol. XXXV, March 12, 1938

The life of the soul that lives in the Divine Will
is formed in our divine Being:
it is conceived, born, and reborn continually!

And just as our divine Being
is always in the act of generating,
so the soul is always
in the act of being reborn!

It is reborn to new love,
new holiness, new beauty.
It is reborn, grows,
and is always taking from God!

How fortunate this soul is,
and God too, because he feels
that the creature
lives in himself! Amen.

Ant. 1 Each time the creature is reborn in us, we form our paradise in it.

Psalm 1 Vol. XXXV, March 12, 1938

As the creature is reborn in us,
we take pleasure in looking at it,
because as it is reborn it acquires a new beauty, that is,
greater beauty, more attractive than before.

But it doesn’t end there,
because other beauties will adorn it;
they will never stop coming.
Such countless beauties steal our gaze,
making us unable to look away.

We are continually adorning the soul
with our endless beauties,
so that we can enjoy them.

And while we are watching it
under the shower of our various beauties,
our love doesn’t remain behind.

It makes the creature be reborn in every instant
in our love, which is always new.
So, it always loves us
with new love that is always growing and never stops.

This life of the creature that is formed in us
is our paradise that we form in it.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 1 Each time the creature is reborn in us, we form our paradise in it.

Ant. 2 The Divine Fiat speaks, creating and sowing divine lives in the soul that is reborn and lives in the Divine Will.

Psalm 2 Vol. XXXV, March 12, 1938

Now, after so many rebirths in us,
we make it capable to receiving our divine sowing;
that is, we can sow as many
divine lives in it as we want.

Then our Divine Will goes to work,
and with its Fiat it speaks and creates,
it speaks and sows divine lives.
And with its breath it makes them grow,
with its love it feeds them, with its light
it colors them with all its manifold beauties.

These lives are the most precious;
they possess the creative power,
they have our own value.

We can say that, having formed
so many lives of ourselves,
we have sown them in the creature.

Comparing these lives to the sun,
its light is like a shadow before them;
the expanse of the heavens is small,
compared to them.

These lives of ours,
formed in the creature with so much love,
will serve to populate the earth
and to generate the life of our Will
in the human family.

They are our lives, my child.
Our life does not die, it is eternal with us.
So, they are all waiting
to take possession of creatures,
in order to form a single life with them.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 2 The Divine Fiat speaks, creating and sowing divine lives in the soul that is reborn and lives in the Divine Will.

Ant. 3 Our love for the soul that lives in our Will is so great that we call it our comforter.

Psalm 3 Vol. XXXV, March 12, 1938

Our love is so great
for the creature that receives
the sowing of our divine lives,

that as we speak of our Will,
our eternal love pours itself out over it,
it unburdens itself, it feels loved in return.
We are relieved of the burden
of human ingratitude
of those who do not love us,
because we find someone who loves us with our love.

This has the power to make up for
all the love that all creatures should give us,
to burn all their evils,
and to fill the greatest distances
and bring them close.

Our love finds our relief
and our reconquests in it,
and so we love it infinitely.

The contentment we feel,
and our love for this creature are so great,
that we call it our consoler,
our Fiat that we have on earth, our depositary.
Everything is ours in it.

Glory be to the Father…

Ant. 3 Our love for the soul that lives in our Will is so great that we call it our comforter.

SHORT READING Vol. XXXVI, December 25, 1938

“Whoever lives in my Will is inseparable from me, and each time I am reborn, he is reborn together with me. So, I am never alone. I make him be reborn together with me to the divine life. He is reborn to new love, to new holiness, to new beauty. He is reborn into the knowledge of his Creator. He is reborn in all our acts. What is more, in each act he does, he calls me to be reborn and forms a new paradise for his Jesus.”
